The Publication Translation Process

1. The best first step will be to have you send us an approved PDF file of your publication. 
That will allow us to get an accurate source word count, look at the content and page structure and prepare a preliminary estimate for the cost and production time required to translate, proofread and typeset your publication. We also need to know the original application used to create the publication (like InDesign or QuarkXPress) and will ask for that source file (with images and fonts) when we move ahead.

2. Once we have submitted the estimate and have your approval, we'll assemble a team of translators, editors and typesetters specifically chosen for your publication and the target language(s). As the project moves forward, we'll maintain a dialogue to pass along any questions the team may have on terminology and structure.

3. When the first proof is ready, we'll send it over for your review, comments and suggestions for any changes to be made. We'll continue that back-and-forth conversation until you are completely satisfied with the final product. Then we'll hand off a high-resolution press-ready file to go to your printer. A digital file is also an available option if desired.

4. Payment terms will be included in the estimate with the additional option to extend payments over a 6 month period through PayPal without interest!

Applications Supported
The applications most often requested for language translation services are:
InDesign, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. We also support the MS Office suite of applications - Excel, MS Word, and Powerpoint. We provide support for all these in both Mac and PC platforms. Support will vary by language and there is almost always a way to work with your source application, language and version. That's why we ask for detailed information with your estimate request.
